We offer four routes on the Ride to Montauk

• 30 miles
• 66 miles
• 100 miles
• 145 miles

ALL of our routes end at the same place in Montauk.

That means that THIS is the question we get most frequently:

“How Can I Start in Manhattan or Babylon, and Wind Up in Montauk Just 30 (or 66) Miles Later?  That’s Impossible!”

The Short Version:  Hey!  What do you care how we do it, wiseguy? Don’t worry!  Just show up in the right place at the right time, and let us take good care of you!

The Full Story: Here's the answer, but I have to warn you that when people read this, they often go insane or start to cry -- you are MUCH better off just skipping this section, showing up at the right time on ride day, and letting us take good care of you!  However, if you really insist...  (Read here, or see extra-confusing chart, below).

145-mile route -- you’re nuts, but we love you anyway. Show up at Penn Station at the appointed time and start pedaling from right there to Montauk. (There is no start for the 145 in Babylon -- you must start at Penn Station for this distance).

100-mile route -- The actual pedaling for this route starts at the Babylon Long Island Rail Road station. You can get to Babylon by:

  1. Pedaling there

  1. Driving there with your bike

  1. Showing up at our Manhattan start line, where we will transport your bike and you to Babylon -- no additional charge for this service. (We transport your bike in our private trucks because you can NOT take your bike on the train on ride day, per LIRR rules.)

30- or 66-mile route -- You have a choice of two morning start locations: Manhattan or Babylon, LI.

No matter which start location you pick; no matter which distance you pick; the exact same thing happens: you show up at the start line of your choice, and we put your bike in our private trucks. Then we put you on the train. No charge for this additional service. (We transport your bike in our private trucks because you can NOT take your bike on the train on ride day, per LIRR rules.)

We'll have escorts on all trains to make sure you get on and off at the right stations.

If you are doing the 30-mile ride you meet up with your bike in a secret location way out on Long Island -- 30-miles from the finish line!

If you are doing the 66-mile ride you meet up with your bike in a different secret location way out on Long Island -- 66-miles from the finish line! (What a coincidence!)

ALL of the cyclists are riding on the exact same route; you just have a nice head start.  All cyclists finish at the same spot in Montauk, no matter which route they choose.

One of the cool things about this system is that if have friends doing different distances or using different start lines, you can all catch up along the route!
