register online Getting there How Do I Get to the Ride? You have two choices. 1) If you have a car and want to drive to the ride, directions are below. There's plenty of free parking. 2) You can take the Long Island Rail Road to the Wantagh station. (Don't forget your LIRR/Metro-North bike pass, available at http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/lirr/pubs/bicyclep.htm). It's less than a mile from the station to the ride start line, and we'll mark the route for you. Please note that this section or roadway is NOT closed to auto traffic - please ride safely! What Kind of Bicycle Should I Bring? Whatever makes you happy! These roads are in fine shape, thanks to our friends at the Department of Transportation, so bring your road bike, hybrid, mountain bike, tandem, recumbent, trike, cruiser… As long as it has NO motor, it's welcome! HOWEVER… please make sure that your bike is in good working order BEFORE you come to the ride! We'll have EMERGENCY bike repair available at the ride, but this is NOT for day-to-day to maintenance! How Do I Get Home Again? If you drove to the event, you're all set - the roads will be open to auto traffic as usual. If you took the Long Island Rail Road, there are trains available from the Wantagh station. We'll mark the route from the start/finish line back to the station.
