The October 10, 2004 Discover Long Island bike ride has been cancelled due to circumstances outside our control. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you.

We want to assure you that you will receive a FULL refund of your registration fee AND your on-line service charges.

If you registered for the ride on September 5 or any date after that, your charge card will be credited by the on-line registration company we use -- Active.com.

If you registered before Sept. 5, your refund MUST be via check -- Active.com is not able to issue a credit to your charge card.

Even in this age of computerization, each refund check must be hand written, and that takes time! We'll write the checks as fast as we can, and send yours to you via U.S. mail. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

This message is going out to everyone who registered for the ride in advance, but there is no way for us to contact those who had not registered, but were thinking of just popping by on the day of the ride -- please help spread the word to your cycling friends.

We are as disappointed as you that the ride is cancelled. We'll be back with bigger and better rides in the future.
