register online Registration How Do I Register for the Ride? On-Line -- The best way to register is to just click on the Active.com link above to register on-line! It's fast, easy, and accurate. You will need a credit card to register on line. You MAY use a friend's credit card (with their permission, of course!) Why Do I Have To Register On-Line? When we did mail-in registration, a bunch of volunteers would wind up working until midnight every night for two weeks, opening mail and stuffing envelopes. By the time the actual event rolled around, they were burned out. In addition, even the best volunteers occasionally made mistakes processing the applications, which lead to problems at check-in on the day of the ride. On-line registration is much more accurate, and makes life easier for the volunteers. Most people either own a computer or know someone who owns a computer (and public libraries have internet access you can use for free). Similarly, most people either have a credit card or know someone who has a credit card. You can use someone else's credit card to register (with their permission, of course!) If you absolutely can not register by computer, you can call in your registration at 888-543-7223 ext. 4. Please be aware that when you call in they are going to ask for your credit card to register, and that this service is MUCH slower than registering on-line. You can also register in-person on the day of the ride, but day-of registration fees are more expensive. (That's not to be mean; that's to encourage you to register in advance!) Day-Of Registration -- You can register in person on the day of the event at the start line. However please note that in-person registration is more expensive! Adults: $30 for early registration $40 for late registration (After October 1, 2004) $50 on the day of the ride (Ride date: Sunday October 10, 2004) Children 7-12 $15 for early registration $20 for late registration (After October 1, 2004) $20 on the day of the ride (Ride date: Sunday October 10, 2004) Children 6 or Under ride for free, but must STILL be registered for the ride. Children 18 or younger must be accompanied by an adult. The first 1,000 people to register for the ride will get a pair of FREE bicycle racing socks!
